China and the democratic wave:remember the unexpected

Over at the Western Standard, there's a post speculating if the current democratization wave that's swept through Ukriane and other places will come to China. Some even wonder, if the Communist oligarchy will be swept away. I'm skeptical about the democratization wave succeding in China. The last time in '89 resulted in a massacre. Presently, the rancid nationalism that the oligarchs have encouraged against Japan doesn't bode well.

If the Chinese managed to sweep away the oligarchs- they'd currently be quite nationalistic and the popular mood might get them carried away. Not a defense of the oligarchs but a reminder that popular sentiment isn't always positive or noble. Personally, I speculate that if the democratic wave were to transform the current regime, China would break up into independent states like 1911 but without the warlordism. The south is quite resentful of Beijing's political dominance as well as economic ineptitude.

So if democratization came to China, the south would demand much more political influence. If the new regime is reluctant or doesn't give enough, the south will simply leave China. In the north, the Uguirs aren't Chinese and really have never wanted to be part of the court. Tibet is obvious. So are we Canadians prepared for a China that breaks up into various independent countries if democratization does come to the country?

L'història i el nacionalisme xenofòbic

Hey disaffected Catholics answer me this!

I'm fed up when I read articles They assert that the Church's teaching on sexuality is moronic, out of touch, unrealistic, etc. OK disaffected Catholics answer me the following:
1) If the Church were to finally permit condoms and other birth control methods, how would families be strengthened? Would children really be valued? How would martial fidelity be enhanced?
2) Justify why a numerous family is evil as well as irresponsible.
3) On what basis do you assert that condoms would prevent AIDS and contain its spread? Name any country that's implemented condom oriented sex as a health policy that's effective. By effective, the infection and death rates have dropped significantly.
4) Define what you mean by keeping up with the times. If it's what I prseume, I suggest you join the North American Anglicans
5) Defend how legitimizing homosexual acts is congruent with natural law. Name one society in a historical time period that's actively encouraged homosexuality.
6)What responsibilities do the laity have to educate themsleves in the faith as well as demand its priests, sisters and lay specialists not to distort doctrines?
7) How would married priests increase vocations? What obstacles do you foresee for the family? For the husband and wife as the man exercises his priestly duties?
8) Why does the existence of hierarchy offend you so much and how would 'democratization' of decision making within the Church make it any more relevant in the world?
