L'handicapé et le cambrioleur: où est la justice?

Hier, on apprend qu'un tetraplégique qui avait abattu un cambrioleur a été arrêté et le procureur l'accusera de meutre de second dégre.

C'est une injustice car on se rétrouve dans une situation incongrue: un cambrioleur- avec un lourd passé jurdique avec un caisier qui le complément- s'introduit par effraction dans le maison du monsieur à 4:20 du matin. Ceci le confronte et un chose mène à l'autre et le cambrioleur trouve la morte.

Au lieu de laisser tranquil la victime putative d'un vol frustré, la police l'arrêt et l'accuse pour meutre non-préméditépour avoir défendu sa maision d'un intrus qui aurait tenté de lui volé sans parler de la probabilité que le proprio aurait pu subir de sévices, voir la mort lors du vol.

Il faudra attendre jusqu'à lundi pour connaître si le procurer persisterait à mettre formellement en accusation le propriétaire. Sans doubte, le procurer pontificara que nul doit entreprendre la loi dans ses mains. Certes. mais même le Code criminel punit plus séverèment un cambrioleur qui s'introduit dans une maison avec des occupants que s'il aurait entré sans ceux-ci.

The recognition of homosexual coupling in Canada: not a priority

On Friday, the Canadian Supreme Court finally published its notice on the federal government's reference case on legalizing homoexual coupling. The positive ruling was expected but I must say that Colter's enthusiasm that he can now speed through the necessary legistaion struck me as gauche. He exulted too much.

Frankly, the legislation isn't a priority for many Canadians. The feds have much more serious issues to grapple like Canadian-American trade issues, the excessive unemployment insurance surplus, the fiscal imbalance with the provinces and anti-terrorism security. Personally, I really don't see how legalizing homosexual coupling advances the society; like a lot of Canadians it's a non-issue albeit for different reasons: with the exception of Alberta, most support the legalization mistakingly assuming that such recognition makes the country more compassionate and fulfils that basic democratic impulse of equalizing everything and everyone.

I'm not as despondent as others anti-recognition proponents; events will simply underscore the utter fallacy that a legislative fiat renders homosexual coupling equal to heterosexual. It won't; in fact we'll soon see how homosexual couplings will disorder the rest of society due to their inherent instability; no matter how hard the governments and homosexual advocates try to mitigate that instability.
