Jane Bangall on John Paul II: ass biting poodle

In today's Gazette Jane Bangall assesses the pope's legacy.

She's an ass biting poodle.

And I'm unsurprised that her article isn't available online to the subscribers. The article clearly exposes not only the turgid biases of the mainstream media in all of the advanced industrialized countries but also the willful blindness by its journalists who simply will never allow themselves to report anything positive.

Let's critique some of her statements. Here's the first gem:
It was a set of reactionary beliefs [i.e. not modernizing the church, not giving the thumbs up to condoms, women priests and gays- ed] These views drove people from the church. They did untold harm throughout the world. The most inexcusable was his refusal to allow condom in the fight against HIV and AIDS, a message he personally delivered to Africa, a continent ravaged with disease and awash in orphaned children

Riiiight, people leaving in droves from the church because of John Paul's reactionary views. HAVE YOU BEEN CONSCIOUS THIS PAST WEEK? Never mind that some people had travelled up to 30 hours to see the body; or the immense outpouring of joy and grief around the world . Nope not even some interesting factoids about American Catholicism

Nor must we let the amazing growth numbers and vibrant parish life throughout the South distort the reality of a dying, reactionary institution.
As for Africa, it's the pope's fault that Africans have astonishingly dangerous understanding of how AIDS is transmitted.

C'mon. Please contradict the Ugandan president about how effective martial fidelity and abstinence have prevented AIDS in his country in comparison to the rest of the continent. Africans should by all means implement the Thai policy which has been so successful in controlling AIDS in that country.

Bangall write in exceptionally bad faith about how John Paul could've stopped AIDS. No he couldn't; hell even secular authorities like the American government were pressured by the gay lobby not to impose a quarantine when AIDS first broke out in the '80s. Every subsequent policy to restrict promiscuity was blocked.

Consequently the gays deserve a lot of the blame too. As assessments go, it's so.boring.and.predictible.

A momentous 26 year pontificate is reduced to disappointment over pelvic demands.

Brault et la corruption: où est la surprise?

Hier, le juge Gomery avait levé partiellement l'interdiction de publication. Si les Canadiens voulurent lire, Ed Morrisey publierait le tmoignage de Brault. Étant Amricain, il n'était pas assujetti l'interdiction et l'on remercie pour nos mettre au courant.

Dès aujourd'hui, les Canadiens- surtout les journalistes- expriment leur choc et déception. Certains ont mme demandé si le Canada pourrait survivre aprs les révélations du Brault. On exagre puisque bien sur que le Canada survivra. Personnellement, je ne suis pas autant choqué par le témoignage- outré oui- mais pas choqué.

Peut-tre parce que c'était inévitable si on suivait les témoignages des autres. On voyait comment le scandale engloutira les Libéraux fédéraux et décréditera le fédéralisme. C'était purement une question de temps et trouver le témoin qui exposerait tout la lumire. Brault est cette personne que Gomery et le public recherchaient.

Contrairement MacPherson, le pays ne se séparera des pays indépendants mais forcera finalement des réformes retardes depuis des décennies. Telles que le recul du fédéral dans les compétences provinciales, le transfert des taxes et impôts aux provinces, le remboursement du trop-perçu du chômage aux citoyens et un abaissement de la TPS.

Toutes ces réformes auront pour but d'empcher les gouvernements futurs d'empocher notre argent ainsi qu'il se tombe pas en tentation dépenser de l'argent sur des programmes douteux.

Donc contrairement aux pessimistes, le témoignage de Brault est salutaire et permettra enfin de réduire l'ingérence des gouvernements dans nos vie.
