No we don't misunderstand you
Arabnews has published yet another whiny article about the alleged distortion of the American media towards Islam and Suadi
Arabia
First, it's difficult to swallow that the American media distorts Islam when PBS' documentary on the life of Mohammed has generated so much controversy in the U.S. Second, it's rather galling for the regime's English language newspaper to pontificate on tolerance and distorted perspectives when Saudi Arabia goes out of its way to brand Jews and Christians as pigs and dog in children's textbooks; prohibit Christians from freely and openly practicing their religion in peace; prohibiting such innocuous practices of sending greeting cards for Mom's and Dad's day. Or far more morally reprehensible, the prohibition of Jews from the
Lebensarum arabische Arabian peninsula Indeed, we conclude that Saudi Arabia is a psychologically insecure society because its polity is inept, crass, vulgar shot through with mindless clericalism that makes.
Update: The various news outlets reported that there was a grenade attack in a Pakistani church on Christmas Day. The attack killed 3 including a kid. Awesom op guys! I'm sure the General staff schools around the world will study that attack. Another stunning victory for the Jihad® Killing women and children in a church is such a demanding
bloodthirsty military operation.
Finally, the Arab and Moslems have done nothing to dispell a growing suspicion that they support vile acts of violence; they've remained silent everytime a vicious attacks has taken place, instead they complain of victimization. In any case, since 11 September, Westerners are far less ignorant about Arab society and Islam; the same can't be said of the Arab and the Moslems who persist in their simplistic stereotypes of Western civilization and still refuse to learn.
Update: Case in point: The various news outlets reported that there was a grenade attack in a Pakistani church on Christmas Day. The attack killed 3 including a kid. Awesome op guys! I'm sure the General staff schools around the world will study that attack. Another stunning victory for the Jihad® Killing women and children in a church is such a demanding

So some of us might actually be Nethandrals
This
article about the resusitation of an old theory that when the African hominoids left the continent to expand, they interbred with the local populations like the Netheranderals. I myself never fully accepted the replacement theory; I always had trouble with the single region theory; there are some anomalies with the speed of African humanoids populating the rest of the world and the couterintuitive assumption that the African humoids were physiologically incompatible with, say the Nethanderal. In any my own laughably unscientific observations of Mediterranean women- some who can be quite hirsute- in fact, I once saw a woman with a moustache- that may be due to some estrogen/testosterone imbalance. However, once I was getting my hair cut at my mom's friend's hairdressing salon in Barcelona and there were 2 pretty girls my age (I was in my early 20s at the time)and they had come to get a wax job for their upper lips. I can imagine how painful it can be; but I was struck how luxuriant their hair was. It was thick, strong and it shone for black, curly hair. I've always been amazed how hirsute some women throughout the Mediterranean are and I've often wondered why. Perhaps the underlying Nethanderal genes still persists in some European regions
I find this new discovery will provoke an interesting reassessment of human origin theories.
Laughable hypocrisy
I'm constantly bemused at how securalists who push to rid Western societies of any expression of Christian symbolism, enthusiastically embrace pagan
symbols I'm skeptical that Santa Claus has some of its origins from Holda- Germanic goddess of good fortune. But then I'm a Latin Catholic of the Mediterranean and Santa Claus is only a recent addition; the usual gift givers are the 3 Kings. I don't hear the neo-pagans and secularists enthusiastically embracing the 3 Kings as one of their own symbols. I guess because they're mentioned in the Bible and might've been Zoroastrians. In any case, to get back at Holda, isn't it telling that some of the stories surrounding her are dark and scary? Contrast that with the birth of Jesus and the story of St Nicholas: no dark stories; even the massacre of the Saint Innocents- is more a sobering tale of how the state tolerates no allegiance external to itself.
The Two towers:great movie!
I finally got to see the Two Towers and I found it to be a thoroughly enjoyable movie. I now understand the raves that I read throughout the blogosphere. Like a lot of bloggers, I want to make some observations of what struck me most about the movie. I was struck by how both Tolkein and Jackson highlighted the Western way of war that Victor Davis Hanson discusses at length.
Here are some of the highlights: When Wormtongue was kicked out of the Rohan, he goes to Saurman. The First thing that Wormtongue tells his master is that the inhabitants will head to the fortress;so the military will be vulnerable due to the large number of refugees. So Saurman order's his Wolf riders s to attack the women and children so as to demoralize the Rohan army and psychologically break it. The attack fails and only spurs the soldiery to show no quarter whatsoever.
When Saurman's armies reach Helm's Deep, they quite noisy. In fact, when they stop in front of the fortress, they growl and beat their shields. Such behaviour contrasts quite noticeably with the Elves' unexpected arrival some time before the Orcs' arrival. The Elves are quiet; walk in disciplined ranks and follow orders. The same goes for the Rohan soldiers who remained impassive and simply waited for their orders. When one of the Rohan archers killed one of the Orcs, his 'accident' exposed a defect in the Orcs' armour: they were vulnerable in the neck area. So once the orders were given to kill, the Elves and men exploited that weakness to the fullest extent.
Note how despite the vast disparity of Orcs' to Men and Elves and the former's use of advanced technology: the gunpowder to breach the walls or the crossbows, still wsn't enough to defeat the defenders. Worse, by holding out for so long, the reinforcements came to tilt the strategic correlation of forces; thus distracting the Orcs from the siege. The battered remnants then mercilessly obliterated the attackers and pursued those that fled. Saurman's army committed a cardinal mistake of not finishing off vastly outnumbered defenders. Consequently, the defenders retook the initiative and become subsequently more lethal by making sure to finish off the enemy forces completely and unequivocally.
The siege of Gondor was a stunning, if macabre landscape portrait, of desperation. Most people will think of Stalingrad or Berlin of 1945 but it's more accurate to remember the devastation brought to Ypres in 1914/15 and the destruction of its beautiful Merchant guild's clocktower and other architectural treasures.
Smeagol/Gollum is a real tour de force and sets a new standard for computer animated realism as well as acting within a new genre (CGI theatrics for the lack of a better neologism) I'll bet that the DVD will include yet more footage and lengthen the film to some 5 hours. I haven't walked out a cinema that satisfied with a movie in many years. A truly enjoyable experience
